- What is CanadaHelps.org?
CanadaHelps is a registered charity and public foundation which operates CanadaHelps.org, through which anyone can donate to any registered Canadian charity online.
(Return to index) - How do I donate?
All the donor has to do is click the ‘Donate Now’ button and follow the simple instructions. You will be asked to enter your name and mailing information, your email address, some directional details about the donation you are making and your credit card information. All information entered is strictly confidential.
(Return to index) - How is the donor information used?
Once a donation is made, the donor information (less credit card information) is available only to the NTCI Foundation, unless anonymity is requested on the donation form. CanadaHelps.org does not sell or trade donor information.
(Return to index) - How do I get a tax receipt?
The Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency has approved the use of electronic tax receipts. Within minutes of making a donation, you will receive an electronic tax receipt mailed to the email address you provided in the donation process. You can save and print this receipt at any time to use for income tax purposes. Because CanadaHelps.org is a charity (Charitable Business Number 896568417RR0001), you will be receipted for your donation by CanadaHelps.org. Once the donation is processed, the funds are directed to the NTCI Foundation bank account.
(Return to index) - Can donors make an anonymous donation?
Yes. All that is required is that the donor checks the appropriate box when prompted and anonymity is guaranteed.
(Return to index) - Does CanadaHelps.org charge the NTCI Foundation for its services?
A 3.9% transaction fee is deducted from every donation to cover all credit card merchant fees, transaction fees, banking costs, receipting, reconciliation and disbursement.
(Return to index) - Is the CanadaHelps.org site secure?
Yes. All information is securely protected behind multiple security measures. CanadaHelps.org has worked
extensively with a number of major technology companies and online security experts to ensure that the site not only meets security requirements, but far exceeds them. Secure Socket Layers (SSL) are used to encrypt all information before sending it to our servers. Your information remains encrypted until it reaches our servers and, once there, it is protected by firewalls and the most effective security measures available.
(Return to index) - I have further questions, who do I contact?
By clicking on the ‘Donate Now’ button, you will be taken to the NTCI Foundation page on the CanadaHelps.org site. You can mouse over the “About CanadaHelps” at the top menu and select “FAQs” for a more complete list of frequently asked questions as well as the toll-free number to contact them.
