- name and occupation
- Joshua Chong, arts critic and reporter at the Toronto Star
- when were you at NT?
- I technically graduated in 2019, but went on to take a fifth year, which was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
- favourite memory
- I have very fond memories of Graffiti editorial meetings, held every Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Zohar’s room. I always enjoyed debating current events, and digging into the latest news.
- how did your time at NT inform/shape you?
- If not for Graffiti, I would not be in journalism. It’s as simple as that. And funnily enough, I actually learned more about the craft of journalism at NTCI than in university. I also met three of my best friends in high school, and we’re still in touch to this day. So, I’m grateful for that, too.
- advice to your high school self?
- High school is a roller coaster. You have mountainous peaks, rock-bottom lows, bumps, swerves and everything in between. You can either grip onto the handle and clench your jaw in fear. Or put your arms up and just enjoy the ride. Do the latter.
