This event allows for a direct connection between alumni\nand current students, ensuring that the Foundation is supporting the proposals\nthat contribute to a vibrant experience for all NT students. This year, the 2019\nspring edition of the Foundation Dragons\u2019 Den was a spirited affair with several\ngroups important to NT student life, <em>Graffiti<\/em>\nand PALS, stepping up to make their respective cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the current <em>Graffiti<\/em>\neditorial computer now 10 years old, the newspaper\u2019s energetic business team\nmade a compelling presentation about the need for a replacement. Their argument\nwas strong and full funding was allocated. The grant will allow the editorial\nteam to continue the tradition of producing an award-winning student newspaper\nfor their fellow NT students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"453\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/ntci.on.ca\/foundation\/wp2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Grafitti.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1091\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ntci.on.ca\/foundation\/wp2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Grafitti.jpeg 453w, https:\/\/ntci.on.ca\/foundation\/wp2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Grafitti-212x300.jpeg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 453px) 100vw, 453px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Peer Assistance Leaders, or PALs as they are known\nin the school, were the second group to make their funding appeal to the\nFoundation Dragons. The organization of 131 members, which helps transition\nGrade 9 students to high school life, was looking for financial support for a\nvariety of initiatives. These included mentorship workshops, holding pizza\n\u201cbreaking-the-ice\u201d lunches with the Grade 9s and buying additional vests\/t-shirts\nto identify members of PALS as approachable and friendly faces to whom young\nstudents can reach out to.
