{"id":1061,"date":"2019-02-12T00:52:32","date_gmt":"2019-02-12T05:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ntci.on.ca\/foundation\/?p=1061"},"modified":"2019-02-14T08:11:58","modified_gmt":"2019-02-14T13:11:58","slug":"alumni-in-the-news-paul-raff-86%ef%bb%bf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ntci.on.ca\/foundation\/alumni-in-the-news-paul-raff-86%ef%bb%bf\/","title":{"rendered":"Alumni In The News &#8211;  Paul Raff (\u201986)\ufeff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Paul Raff Studio, headed by architect and NT alumnus Paul Raff, has won a prestigious 2018 CODAworx Award for the artwork \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Atmospheric Lens (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.codaworx.com\/awards\/codaawards\/2018\/entries\/atmospheric-lens-toronto-york-spadina-subway-extension\" target=\"_blank\">Atmospheric Lens<\/a>\u201d\u2013an architectural feature at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commissioned by the TTC for the Toronto-York Subway Extension as part of an official mandate to recognize the importance of the user\u2019s experience in the new infrastructure, this public artwork is being recognized as successfully integrating art into interior, architectural, or public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This award is one of many that Paul and the Paul Raff Studio have received. In 2001, he became the youngest ever recipient of the Ontario Association of Architects\u2019 Allied Arts Award for lifetime achievement and in 2009 was awarded the Allied Arts Medal by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
