Although online services can be very convenient and efficient, they
also have negatives. Online service providers also come with risks and
potential issues. Some issues with online services include:
- Security/hacking
- Password
- Crashes/glitches

Network Security
An issue associated with online service providers is network security.
This includes the risk of hacking, data loss, security breaches and
viruses. If an online service provider organization gets hacked, the
hacker has now gained unauthorized access to the organization's
information. This means that the hacker has the ability to possibly
steal information from the organization, wipe their database clean and
lock everyone else out. This can be dangerous as some organizations
require customers to create an account and enter personal information to
access their services. If this is the case and the organization gets
hacked, the hacker can potentially steal someone's personal information
and impersonate them. The hacker can also impersonate the company and
send viruses or threats to their customers. Fortunately, there are ways
to help prevent these situations from occuring. Devices such as firewalls
and anti-virus software can help protect and prevent your computer from
developing a virus. Clearing your cache can also help ensure the security
of your private information.

Reliability of Passwords
To access online service providers, you may be required to create an
account and log in. To create and account, you will have to use a password.
However, users may experience several problems with passwords. These
issues include forgetting your password and having your guessed/cracked.
Often users forget their password to accounts. They frequently forget
their usernames, or that they even had an account registered to the online
service provider. Passwords can also be very unreliable as a hacker can
guess your security question when trying to reset it. A second issue with
passwords is the risk of someone guessing/cracking them. If this happened,
the user wouldn't know that someone else had access to their account. The
hacker could possibly use the users credentials, read their messages,
impersonate them etc. To decrease the likelihood of his occuring, you can
change your password frequently and use a combination of letters, numbers
and special characters to make it difficult to crack.

Crashes/Glitches
An issue associated with accessing online service providers is that the
service provider could have a virus. If this is true and you try to
access the service provider online, it can infect your computer and cause
it to crash. If your computer crashes, you could possibly lose all your
information but sometimes the computer reboots with glitches. The best
idea is to backup your information.
