Introduction
Nowadays people are totally immersed in portable devices.
Everywhere we go at least one person is using a portable device.
Technology pays a big role in today's society, it helps us with everyday needs.
For example: calling your friends, shopping online doing research and much more.

Before cell phones their was telephones.
Telephones could only be used in a certain areas and you couldn't take it on the go with you.
The reason why people made cell phones is because was not convenient how you had to go to the nearest telephone box or go home.
Just to make a phone call.
Cell phones started popping out the 1973.
It was the Motorola Dyna TAC 8000x.
However, the first mobile phone was invented in 1908 but it wasn't actually a mobile phone it was a two way radio that allowed people like emergency services to communicate.
Motorola was the first company to mass produce a hand held mobile phone.
Now one of the mass producers for cell phones is the tech company Apple.
Cell phones have evolved since it first existed from no screen to oled display, from heavy to light, and from no camera to camera.
Cell phones are very important for everyday use.
We use it for communication, entertainment, shopping and to take photos.
Cell phones have impacted many people's lives.

Tablets are as known as portable pcs.
They had mobile operating systems rather than a pc operating system.
The first tablet that could recognize handwriting motion was granted in 1914.
In 1956, the first public demonstration of a computer tablet recognized handwriting.
Tablets are mostly used by artists that make art using the tablet because you have different strokes, colours and etc.
It also saves all your work in a local file so you will never lose it.
Tablet affect our daily lives because it is easy and convenient to use just like a computer but with a touch screen.

The purpose of a laptop is to take it on the go, wherever you go.
Many people use laptops like students and business personale.
Most of these people take their laptops to school or to work.

The first laptop that was invented was called the Dynabook.
It was invented by Alan Key. At the time it was unpopular, you couldn't do much with it.
But the first laptop that was sold, was the Grid Compass 1100, in 1979.
It was created by William Moggridge. They were sold to NASA and the American army for $8150.
The company IBM created the first commercial laptop, in 1982.
It could only carry one task at the time.
These creations encouraged other companies like HP and Dell to make their own Laptops.
In the 21st century, laptops affect our daily lives because we use it for so many things and it makes our lives so much easier than before.

GPS
Gps stands for "Global Positioning System".
It was invented by the US Navy in 1959.
It was used to locate submarines. The GPS was mainly used by the US military to locate vehicles on land and in air.
Many airlines now require the use of a GPS in order to improve navigation ,air safety and staying on route.
For example Korean Air flight 007 was shot down by the Soviets due to it wandering off course into Soviet airspace, without the use of a GPS.
Nowadays with the use of a GPS you can get to places without a using map.
The GPS is more accurate then most maps because maps go out of date and GPS maps never go out of date.
Many people depend on the use of a GPS like airlines, companies and ordinary citizens because of its easy use and low price.
