Mobile Devices and their Daily Affects on Humanity
Over the past ten years, mobile devices have been greatly enhanced. These
gadgets have become more compact, powerful, and practical. They are
everywhere and play large roles in the lives of most people. The
availability of mobile devices has expanded, and they are making notable
improvements in many lives.
In many ways, mobile technology makes our lives better than before. We can
be in touch with those we need to reach, whether personal or occupational.
We can send someone an important file when they need it. We can collaborate
with people in real-time, no matter their distance from each other. We can
make important decisions on the spot. Mobile technology has improved the
way we do business. Communication is wonderfully impacting our ability to
stay close to friends and family. We can talk to them at any given time to
see how they're doing. We can have video chats to not only hear people, but
to also see them. Relatives can celebrate special occasions together, even
if they live across the world from each other. On a less insightful note,
we can do simple things like pay for parking at meters with our phones. We
can find out which bus takes us where. We can precisely find places we need
to be, even if we don't know where they are. We can easily explore new places
and find new things that interest us. It's even possible to park our cars with
the touch of a button. We have way more access to information than ever before. We can easily
look up data regarding any topic within just seconds. Our handheld gadgets can
even predict what information we need and offer it to us in the
most efficient way possible. These daily uses of mobile technology have converted our society to
become more tightly connected with each other. We have online
connections with people who we've met in real life. We can talk with
individuals who have similar interests all over the globe, and debate with
those who have opposite interests just as easily. This stimulates
conversations which were never before possible, and results in friendships
that are just as strong as those in real life. As a matter of fact, they have
become real life.
Not only has mobile technology improved our daily lives, it has also raised
the quality of life for many. Healthcare is now using portable technology to
help people around the globe. And with time, mobile healthcare is only going
to improve. Medical personnel can review home medical tests from anywhere and
make vital changes to the patient's care. Healthcare providers can receive
pacemaker tests using a phone and can change the programming of the device to
fit the patient's condition better. Doctors can see detailed diagnostic images on phones and find
conditions that need immediate treatment, saving the patient's time and energy.
People in third world countries who don't have local healthcare can be
diagnosed and have medicine prescribed by distant healthcare providers.
Patients in areas experiencing significant problems with fraudulent
medications can use a phone when purchasing to confirm if a medication is
legitimate (or not). This is saving people's lives and improving healthcare
every day for those who need it most. Children with conditions such as autism are using tablets to help them focus
and converse with those around them. Patients recovering from different types
of strokes and brain injuries are using tablets and laptops to help them
recover easier. Patients of all ages are using portable devices to easily
communicate with doctors and family in a way that they couldn't before.
People born inarticulate are using devices that can be programmed through
wireless technology, which gives them the ability to speak their thoughts.
Text messaging on phones has also made a huge impact on communication for
mute people. People with blindness can use mobile phones to not only improve their lives,
but to also help them achieve an unimaginable level of independence. Not only
can these phones speak to the blind so they know what is being displayed on
the screen, they even have software that can safely guide them in busy cities.
Mobile technology can help the blind pick out proper clothes for the day. The
technology on smartphones can scan change received from a purchase and tell
them exactly how much they received.
Mobile technology is enriching our lives. It is giving a voice to those without
one. It is making communication easier for everybody. It is keeping remote
loved ones close, and building relationships no matter the location of those
involved. It is saving lives, and making healthcare possible for those who
otherwise couldn't access it. It is pulling the world closer together. In a time
where mobile technology is thriving, we have no idea what it could do in the near
future, but it sure will be interesting.
