What is a safeguard?

Safeguards are devices that protects your information in software and hardware.
(ex. firewalls, effective passwords, biometric data, secure websites) (1)

What is a firewall?

A firewall is a security device that monitors incoming and out going network traffic and decides to allow it or block it based on security rules. There are different types of firewalls such as proxy firewalls, Stateful inspection firewalls, Unified threat management (UTM) firewalls, and Next-generation firewalls (NGFW). (2)
Types of firewallsWhat do they do
Proxy firewallProxy firewall serves as the gateway from one network to another for a specific application. This can provide additional functionality such as content caching and security by preventing direct connections from outside the network.
Stateful inspection firewallStateful inspection firewall allows or blocks traffic based on state, port, and protocol. It monitors all activity from the opening of a connection until it is closed. Also decisions are made based on both administrator-defined rules as well as context.
Unified threat management (UTM) firewallA UTM device typically combines, in a loosely coupled way, the functions of a stateful inspection firewall with intrusion prevention and antivirus. It may also include additional services and often cloud management.
Next-generation firewall (NGFW)Firewalls have evolved beyond simple packet filtering and stateful inspection. Most companies are deploying next-generation firewalls to block modern threats such as advanced malware and application-layer attacks.

What is strong password and how do we create one?

How should you make your passwords?

What is biometric data?

This might be used to unlock your phone or your computer so other people can't get your private iinformation. Although some of the biometric data is stonger then other biometric data such as your eye will be stronger then your voice since someone could of recorded your voice saying the password.

What is a secure website?
