A portable device is basically any device that can easily be carried. Over the years portable devices have become an increasingly important part of most people and part of personal computing. The first-ever portable computer was created in April 1981 by a big tech company at the time called Osborne, the person who led the the project was a journalist who turned into an entrepreneur named Adama Osborne.
The Goods Of A Portable Device
As most, of you know Steve Jobs who is the founder and former CEO of Apple, and he is credited as a visionary for the advent of the iPhone and the smartphone device in general. Now, of course, it's not just Steve Jobs who created the smartphone but he was the biggest creator. Smartphones/Portable Devices have become a huge part of our lives, we use them every day, for example, little things like turning your car on or getting on the subway they all use little portable devices that controls its action. Your car has little computers that control everything from its traction control to your infotainment system to your car turning on because as soon as you turn on the ignition the computers turn everything else on. Not only does it help with those little things but also it helps people live, nearly everything that is used in the hospitals is a form of a Portable device this helps raise the quality of life for many people. Doctors, personnel who work at the hospital can review their patient's sickness or condition from anywhere in the world through a portable device, that has been very helpful to everyone in the medical industry.

The Bads Of A Portable Device
There are a lot of goods and bads to portable devices, one of the biggest ones is the radiation our phones emit radiofrequency radiation they are also called radio waves, it is a form of non-ionizing radiation, from their antennas. And most parts of our body nearest to the antenna can absorb this energy. This can cause cancer or other types of diseases, but as you know we all have our phones with us on the daily and nothing happens to us well this is because all tech companies have figured out new technologies to reduce this radiofrequency radiation so that it doesn't affect our body in a negative way. Portable Devices also bring a lot of disorders as well, for example, Nomophobia, Nomophobia is a new diagnosable disorder in which the person has an irrational fear of losing or being without their portable device/smartphone. As we become more and more dependent on these devices, our ability to cope without them dwindles. According to a survey by Securenvoy corporation in 2016 77% of teens had big anxiety about them not being able to spend enough time with their phones.
