It's extremely easy to spot a mobile phone anywhere you go nowadays. Everything we do nowadays seems to involve our mobile phone in one way or another: we shop with our phones, order food, interact with others, The simple fact is that these 5' by 2' devices have taken over the world in a matter of years.

  • Cellphones allow users to reach anyone at any time(emergency services, your workplace/school, family and friends, etc)
  • Options like texting made communicating short messages quicker and more efficient
  • Cellphones provide entertainment such as music, games, and social media platforms
  • Constant communication between parents and children
  • They have a high level of portability
  • Tracking capabilities allow users to track someone important to them
  • Capturing pictures is easy and quick

  • Texting or calling while driving causes distraction which can lead to an accident
  • Cellphones made sexual exploitation easier through sending pictures and sexting
  • Levels of E-Waste are rising due to the constant electronic waste
  • Mobile devices make it easier for students to cheat in school
  • Texting and phone calls have replaced face-to-face interaction which compromises our social development
  • Cellphones are one of the top 10 addictions in the world
  • These devices take focus away from important things like work and studying

Laptops and Computers are the foundations of access, learning, research, and technology itself. These devices gave us the tools to make learning more efficient than ever before. With search engines like Google and Internet Explorer, any question you have can be answered in a matter of seconds all because of computers.
Laptops in School and the Workplace: Nowadays it seems that everything we do in school and work would be virtually impossible without computers. These devices allow students to research and learn faster than ever before. At home computers also allow students further access to education online which can expand and improve their knowledge. Writing reports, essays, documents, spreadsheets, etc is easier than ever with computers. There seems to hardly be a need for a pen or pencil anymore. (5) (6)
Access Laptops Offer: Laptops provide global access to websites, information, programs, social media platforms, and much more. With the access laptops provide, all our emails, research, documents, and important data stored on a laptop is portable. (5)
Other Benefits Include: 1. Memory abilities that enables laptops to store data and programs 2. Computers are now able to manage important global systems like food production and transport 3. Unlike computers they do not need to be plugged into a power source to operate (battery life is anywhere from 2-8 hours) 4. Accessing data like crime rates, medical records, urban planning, etc is extremely beneficial to knowing more about where you live/planning to move to. (7)

The Affect on Developing Countries: A True Impact

Technology, especially portable devices, have changed the ways developed countries operate. All devices have had a major impact on how humans interact, research, connect, learn, and function but not all people have had the same access as those who live in developed countries. Providing access to everyone in the world would be the ultimate goal and just recently, technology has started making its impact in developing countries.
The future of technology lies in developing countries.
