Trends in careers that require computer skills


Most jobs around the world nowadays require a proficiency in computer and technology. Jobs involved with engineering, healthcare, or even jobs involving the news require the use of computers since it improves efficiency and accuracy. Today's occupations rely on the effectiveness of computer technology and because of this, employers are looking for that computer experience on a resume. So because of technology, new types of jobs have been created to improve different kinds of workplaces even further like, ultrasound technicians, development operations engineers, and many more.(1)

There is a huge variety of careers that mainly require computer skills so they have become an important role to fill in the workplace. These are some jobs that people wouldn't be able to get without computer skills.

Ultrasound technicians are the people who take routine pregnancy check ups of the developing fetus called ultrasounds. Unlike most medical professions, who attend four years of college, four years of medical school, and a residency training program, ultrasound technicians do not have a medical degree. Nowadays demand for Development Operator Engineering(DevOps) skills is growing fast because they are important for businesses.(5) DevOps are people who constantly plan code, build software and operate equipment at an efficient rate. DevOps also try to achieve automation at various stages of which helps deliver quality software to customers faster. DevOps excel in collaboration and communication in order to maximize productivity. DevOps need to have a bachelor's in computer science. Software engineering are people who develop information systems in order to create an application that satisfies specific needs within an organization or department. These software solutions need to follow coding standards and procedures. They are also tasked with evaluating existing operations to find problems in order to improve and develop solutions in the form of better software processes. They then test these processes and continue to maintain these changes. A software engineer needs to excel in different types of code such as C++, NET, Java, and Python. They also need a bachelor's degree or a master's in computer science. Biomedical engineers are people who help develop more advanced healthcare technology. They design, test and implement new medical procedures. They also maintain the equipment and write reports about their research. They often use computers to run simulations and to research. They also need experience in C++ and MATLAB to run simulations.(8) The typical employers of biomedical engineers are hospitals, universities, research organisations and more organisations that focus on healthcare. To become a biomedical engineer, you need a degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, computer science, mechanical engineer, electrical engineering or physics.(8) Previous experience in engineering is essential for this position.The average annual salary for a biomedical engineer is $85,620.(8)
Information systems managers or IT managers are people who plan, coordinate and direct computer-related activities in an organization. They determine the computer-related goals of an organization and are responsible for making computer systems to meet those goals.(9) Computer skills are very essential for this job, and employers will only hire those with that experience. Usually, a bachelor's degree in computer or information science and related work experience.(9) Demand for IT managers is expected to increase as most employers continue to expand their use of computers. The job usually entails managing a team of programmers, analysts, and support specialists to help implement more computer software. They also manage the IT budgets, schedule upgrades and design maintenance procedures.The average annual salary for an IT manager is $139,220.(9)
