Co-operative Education is a program of study that integrates academic study and classroom theory with practical experience in the workplace. Students are placed in supervised training positions with organizations whose field of work is related to their area of study and interest.
The aim of the program, which is built on a partnership between educators and the business community, is to provide students with training and work experience that will enable them to make informed decisions about their future education and careers.
North Toronto CI is a non-semestered school, so students will attend their co-op placements every other day for the entire school year (October - May).
They may work toward a single or double credit. Each credit requires 110 hours, or about 5 hours per week. There is flexibility with student work hours to accommodate employer and student commitments.
Student performance at their co-op placement will be reviewed and evaluated three times per year.
North Toronto CI is always looking for outsanding placements for our students. If you can help us, please call our co-op department at the numbers listed below.
